New Wilco Album Due Later This Year

Wilco released Star Wars, their previously unannounced ninth studio album, in July of last year. According to band frontman Jeff Tweedy, the follow-up to 2011’s The Whole Love will itself be followed by another new Wilco album sometime this year.
In an interview with The Guardian, Tweedy revealed Wilco completed recording of new album that will be released in 2016, telling the outlet the band has “another one [album] ready to go this year.” Last August, Tweedy told Rolling Stone recording for the follow-up to Star Wars was “about halfway done,” and that the music was “very different” from their 2015 release.
Wilco recently shared an official recording of their cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” from their February 6 show at Kings Theatre in Brookyln, New York. Stream it below:
