Weezer made the most out of their stop at 30 Rockefeller Plaza this week. The power pop-rock band performed a barbershop quartet version of “Buddy Holly” as well as a straight-ahead take of “Living In L.A.” on Tuesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Rivers Cuomo & Co. also teamed with with Fallon and The Roots to record A-Ha’s 1984 #1 hit “Take On Me” on classroom instruments.
The Los Angeles-based band included the song on their recently-released covers record the Teal Album. Weezer, Fallon and The Roots got in the spirit of things by dressing in 1980s-era New Wave clothing with the beginning of the clip mimicking A-Ha’s original live-action pencil-sketch video.
