Mumford & Sons Team With Chris Thile For ‘Here’ On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Mumford & Sons brought in Chris Thile to play mandolin and sing harmony on “Here” during Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The song opens the band’s latest album, Prizefighter, with Chris Stapleton featured on the studio version.

Released in February, Prizefighter is Mumford & Sons’ sixth studio album. “Here” has become a regular vehicle for collaborations at the band’s concerts, most recently including Marcus King, who sat in on the song in Madison and other cities last month. Other live guests on “Here” have included Sierra Ferrell, Caamp’s Taylor Meier, Shania Twain, Stella Lefty, Matt Corby, Dylan Gossett and Prizefighter co-producer Aaron Dessner. Ferrell also recorded a version with Mumford & Sons for Apple Music Sessions.

Frontman Marcus Mumford additionally sat for an interview with host Jimmy Kimmel. Mumford discussed the collaborators on Prizefighter, including how he cold called Stapleton to ask him to appear on the album.

The conversation also turned to Disneyland. Born in the Anaheim area before growing up in England, Mumford told Kimmel he usually visits the park by himself.

“I love being in a place where it’s totally culturally acceptable to wear Mickey ears and branded t-shirts from like Star Wars and stuff,” Mumford said.
