Watch Marcus King Sit In With Mumford & Sons In Madison

After The Marcus King Band opened for Mumford & Sons on Wednesday, Marcus King returned to the stage at Madison’s Kohl Center. He sang and played guitar with the headliners on “Here” near the end of their main set.

“Here” opens Mumford & Sons’ 2026 album Prizefighter with Chris Stapleton on the studio recording. Sierra Ferrell has since recorded another version with the band for Apple Music Sessions. She is among the guests who have also performed the song with Mumford & Sons live, along with Caamp’s Taylor Meier, Shania Twain, Stella Lefty, Matt Corby, Dylan Gossett and Prizefighter co-producer Aaron Dessner.

Madison was the third of five Mumford & Sons tour stops featuring support from The Marcus King Band. “Here” followed “The Cave” and preceded main-set closer “The Wolf.” The encore was comprised of “The Banjo Song,” “I Will Wait” and “Conversation With My Son (Gangsters & Angels).”

Mumford & Sons next play Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, September 25, where The Marcus King Band is also on the festival bill. They then head to Oceans Calling in Ocean City, Maryland on Sunday, September 27 before resuming their tour with King’s band on September 29 in Birmingham, Alabama and October 1 in The Woodlands, Texas.
