Weedie Braimah & The Hands Of Time Announce December 2018 Tour


Percussionist Weedie Braimah will bring his Weedie Braimah & The Hands Of Time ensemble on the road this December for a series of dates. Braimah confirmed seven shows for the band with two left to be announced.

Weedie (Oteil Burbridge, Christian Scott, Trombone Shorty) is joined in the project by Luke Quaranta of Toubab Krewe, Cheikh Ndoye of Baaba Maal, Raja Kassis of Antibalas, Sam Dickey and Shea Pierre of Fatoumata Diabate as well as Munir Zakee. The tour starts at Snug Harbor in New Orleans on December 8 and continues with stps in Atlanta, Asheville, Charleston, Durham and Roanoke.

A performance at a venue and in a city to be announced comes on December 14 before a night at Harlem Stage in New York City on December 15 featuring special guests Pedrito Martinez, Christian Scott and Amadou Kouyate. “I’m extremely honored to be at a place that I have only dreamed of being! It’s a true joy to be alongside these amazingly talented artists whom I look up to and admire on and off the stage,” Braimah stated. “These fellow musicians are part of my family. They represent true folklore in its purest form. Everyone who comes out to the show is in store for an awakening of Africa and the Diaspora. The Djembé will talk!!!!”
