Weedie Braimah & The Hands Of Time Announce Blue Note Run In New York City

led by percussionist Weedie Braimah will play a series a four performances at the Blue Note in New York City. The group plays tonight (Tuesday, October 1) and tomorrow (Wednesday, October 2) at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET
Braimah’s band also features guitarist and Djeli Ngoni player Sam Dickey (Fatoumata Diawara), guitarist Raja Kassis (Antibalas), Cheikh N’Doye (Baaba Maal’s Musical Director), Luke Quaranta (Toubab Krewe), multi-instrumentalist Munir Zakee and New Orleans-based keyboardist Shea Pierre (Fatoumata Diawara). “I’m extremely honored to be at a place that I have only dreamed of being! It’s a true pleasure to be able to create alongside these amazingly talented artists who understand both my vision and process,” Weedie said of the group. “These fellow musicians are part of my family. They represent true folklore in its purest form. Everyone who comes out to the show is in store for another awakening of Africa and the Diaspora. The Djembé will continue to speak!”
