Watkins Family Hour Covers ‘Brokedown Palace’ On ‘Conan’

It’s not everyday you see a band covering the Grateful Dead for their performance on a late night TV show, but that’s exactly what happened on last night’s episode of Conan. Watkins Family Hour treated the national viewing audience to a beautiful version of “Brokedown Palace,” a song they both recorded for their self-titled debut album and have played live.

Sara Watkins handled most of the lead vocals and added fiddle to the gorgeous cover which was performed by a smaller, five-piece version of Watkins Family Hour than the one that recently toured. Watch how it went down:
