On Saturday, the ZBB welcomed special guests John Popper of Blues Traveler and Darrell Scott during their acoustic set for covers of “Freeborn Man” (The Outlaws), “I Wish” (Darrell Scott) and “Piano Man” (Billy Joel). Scott also contributed to a version of “It’s The Whiskey That Eases The Pain” during the acoustic portion. Later in the evening, both Popper and Luther Dickinson starred on a cover of “Can’t You See” (Marshall Tucker Band).

On Sunday, Donald Dunlavey helped out on “I Play The Road” as well as a take on “Statesboro Blues” that also featured Warren Haynes. Bela Fleck emerged for most of the acoustic portion of the evening that included an instrumental with Brown and covers of “Oh My Sweet Carolina” (Ryan Adams) and “Carolina On My Mind” (James Taylor). The Zac Brown Band brought this year’s installment of Southern Ground to a close with a “Day For The Dead” and “Enter Sandman” encore.

Tonight, Zac Brown will join Foo Fighters on The Late Show With David Letterman.
