By Scott Bernstein Aug 4, 2016 • 10:32 am PDT
This coming Monday, August 8, Central Park SummerStage in New York City will host a Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration Featuring Warren Haynes. Today, Haynes has revealed he’ll be using Jerry Garcia’s iconic Tiger guitar at the concert. In addition, the Jerry team also announced Marco Benevento and Eric Krasno have been added as special guests in Central Park for an extended encore without the orchestra. The extended encore will be similar to the third set at Red Rocks on Jerry’s birthday as it will center around Jerry Garcia Band and Grateful Dead favorites with plenty of room for jamming.
Back on Monday, Warren was the first musician to play Tiger in public since the final Grateful Dead show on July 9, 1995. Haynes used the famed axe as part of the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration Featuring Warren Haynes at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado. Check out our full coverage of the show here.
