Warren Haynes Joins Tedeschi Trucks Band At Beacon Theatre

Last night Tedeschi Trucks Band held the fifth show of a six night residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The storied venue that regularly hosted annual The Allman Brothers Band residencies once again saw a pair of the iconic group’s former members grace its stage as guitarist Warren Haynes joined Derek Trucks for a run of songs Friday evening.

The first set opened with “Coming Home” and closed with a rendition of “The Storm” that was “dedicated to everyone in Jacksonville and beyond affected by Hurricane Matthew.” The opening half also saw takes on “All That I Need,” “Don’t Miss Me,” “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever” and others.

Haynes and Trucks had been co-guitarists in The Allman Brothers Band until they jointly decided to leave the group in 2014, leading to a final ABB performance at the Beacon in October of that year. Haynes joined TTB last night to close out the second set for an extended run of songs. The Gov’t Mule frontman helped out on a string of covers including “Preaching Blues,” “Keep On Growing,” “Soul Serenade,” “It Hurts Me Too,” and “Had To Cry Today.” View audience-shot footage of Haynes with TTB and more below:
