Warren Haynes Provides Health Update, Will Miss Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus

Anders Osborne, Jackie Greene, John Scofield, Robert Randolph and more have been added to the Island Exodus 13 lineup.

Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes issued a note to fans revealing he is currently at home resting after spending a week in the hospital due to “pretty serious complications” from COVID and Influenza A. While Haynes will need to miss Island Exodus 2023 under doctor’s orders, next week’s destination event will move forward with special guests joining Warren’s bandmates in Jamaica.

Anders Osborne, Jackie Greene, John Scofield, Robert Randolph, Audley Freed, Rob Barraco, Robert Kearns and Jeff Sipe have been added to the Island Exodus 13 lineup as special guests. Those musicians, along with previously confirmed special guests Jimmy Vivino and Ron Holloway will join Matt Abts, Danny Louis and Jorgen Carlsson for three Gov’t Mule & Friends performances at this year’s Island Exodus.

Island Exodus 13 begins on Sunday, January 15 at Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, Jamaica on continues through Thursday, January 19. Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, Duane Betts, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country and Little Days round out this year’s lineup. “IE13 is shaping up to be a very special, not to be repeated, 4-day concert,” stated Haynes. “It pains me not to be there, but I am confident that those of you who are will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Gov’t Mule recently postponed their 2022 New Year's Run due to Haynes’ health issues. “The shows will be rescheduled — with new dates coming soon — and I know Gov’t Mule will be ready to blow the roofs off The Met and the Beacon,” Warren wrote as part of his note. He also mentioned the band will announce a spring tour soon.
