The War On Drugs welcomed Lucius‘ Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig to guest during a Saturday night concert in Los Angeles. Wolfe and Laessig came out towards the end of the band’s main set at the Shrine Auditorium for backing vocals on “I Don’t Live Here Anymore.”
“I Don’t Live Here Anymore” is the title track from The War On Drugs’ 2021 studio album. Lucius contributed to the studio version of the title track featured on I Don’t Live Here Anymore. Bandleader Adam Granduciel and his bandmates performed seven additional songs from their latest LP in Los Angeles, including the “Old Skin” opener and “Occasional Rain” that ended the night.
The show also featured four cuts off 2014’s Lost In A Dream, three tunes from 2017’s A Deeper Understanding and “Come To The City” and “Your Love Is Calling My Name,” which each appeared on 2011’s Slave Ambient. Additionally, Granduciel led the group through 2020 single “Ocean Of Darkness” as the penultimate song of the main set before ending the night with a four-song encore that included a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Born In Time.”
