Philadelphia and Ohio favorites came together on Saturday during the third and final night of The War On Drugs‘ annual Drugscember holiday run at Johnny Brenda’s in Philly. Former War On Drugs member Kurt Vile and rock ‘n’ roll legend Joe Walsh performed with the host band separately and shared the stage for the finale.

The War On Drugs kicked off the show last night with “Brothers,” off the band’s 2011 album Slave Ambient. The first guest spot came in the form of Kurt Vile — who co-founded The War On Drugs with frontman Adam Granduciel — when the guitarist joined his former band beginning with covers of Bill Fay’s “Pictures of Adolf Again” and R.E.M's “Country Feedback.”

Kurt Vile also revisited The War On Drugs debut album, Wagonwheel Blues. Kurt left the band to focus on his solo career shortly after the album’s release in 2008. The collab offered the LP’s “Arms Like Boulders.”

Guitar great Joe Walsh came aboard with The War On Drugs to close out the set, leading two of his iconic songs, “Rocky Mountain Way” and “In The City.” To seal the show, Kurt Vile returned for the Drugs number “Under The Pressure,” also featuring Walsh.
