Vulfpeck Teams With Jon Batiste & Stay Human On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

Two incredibly funky acts collaborated on last night’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert when Ann Arbor buzz band Vulfpeck sat in with house band Jon Batiste & Stay Human. The members of Vulfpeck performed with Batiste and his band as the show went into and out of commercial breaks. Vulfpeck also recorded a song, backed by Stay Human, as a web exclusive.
Vulfpeck and Batiste & Stay Human were a potent combination and the joy came through at each commercial break. While the Ann Arbor band recently released Thrill Of The Arts, they chose to make their Colbert debut with the catchy “1612” off 2014’s Fugue State. Frequent collaborator Antwaun Stanley, who sings on the studio version, led Vulfpeck and Stay Human through “1612”:
