Inaugural VinylFest To Premiere At Original Farmers Market In L.A.

The celebration of vinyl music, DJ culture and rock ‘n’ roll takes place on Saturday, December 7.

The inaugural VinylFest, celebrating vinyl music, DJ culture and rock ‘n’ roll, takes place at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 7. The free event marks the culmination of the Original Farmers Market’s 90th Anniversary celebration.

KCRW DJ Jeremy Sole will perform vinyl sets alongside When the Needle Hits the Groove host Geoff Hanson and other DJs curated by dublab. AlphaTheta (formerly Pioneer DJ) will provide equipment for the performances and showcase their latest turntable and mixing gear. KCRW will host a vinyl listening station and offer exclusive merchandise, with gift wrapping available for donations to the radio station.

VinylFest programming also includes the Jerry Garcia Family and Round Records offering an exclusive pre-release of Bare Bones – The Duo Recordings: Volume I – Master Takes featuring recordings by Garcia and David Grisman. The exclusive release will be available for purchase at Amoeba Music’s booth, which will also offer other items and discounted gift certificates.

Wayne Kramer‘s non-profit organization Jail Guitar Doors will showcase their mobile recording studio, allowing guests to record their own songs. The organization will also sell a limited posthumous vinyl album by Kramer.

Stern Pinball will feature their rock-themed machines including games dedicated to Metallica, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden and Rush.

VinylFest will also include a one-day revival of House of Records and an exhibit of live music photography by Jeff Kravitz.

VinylFest will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, December 7 the Original Farmers Market, located at the corner of 3rd & Fairfax in Los Angeles.
