Last year Strand Of Oaks put out the acclaimed LP HEAL that showcased the man-behind-the-band Timothy Showalter’s excellent songwriting and musicianship. The deeply personal and intense record touched on themes of growing up, marital infidelity and loss, packaged in forceful fury of rock ‘n’ roll.

Showalter brought his electric and acoustic guitars to NPR in Washington D.C. to participate in the public radio station’s Tiny Desk Concert video series. The subdued three-song set featuring HEAL tracks, “Goshen 97,” “Plymouth” and the tribute to the late Jason Molina “JM,” exemplifies Showalter’s skills as a songwriter and performer.
