Trampled by Turtles and Leftover Salmon co-headlined a two-night stand at the picturesque Dillon Amphitheatre in Colorado over the weekend. The bands brought the run to a close with a collaborative performance of a classic by The Band.
The co-bill saw Leftover Salmon delivering the closing set on Friday and Trampled By Turtles wrapping things up on Saturday. TbT opened their set on Saturday with “It’s A War” off their 2022 hit record, Palomino.
The band from Duluth, Minnesota also delivered takes on Iris DeMent‘s “Our Town” and the Beach Boys-popularized traditional “Sloop John B” alongside a live debut of instrumental “Obelesque.”
Trampled also offered additional favorites from their catalog such as “Alone” and “Wait So Long.” Following the latter, TbT closed their main set with Palomino cut “Again” and returned to perform Warren Zevon‘s “Keep Me In Your Heart.”
Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman, Drew Emmitt and Andy Thorn then loaded onto the stage for a rendition of The Band’s “The Weight.” Trampled By Turtles frontman Dave Simonett handled the first verse and Salmon’s Vince Herman also took a turn at the mic during the sing-along tune to bring the bands’ co-headline run to a close.
