Valerie June confirmed a new covers EP, Under Cover, due out through Fantasy Records on August 26. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist previewed the EP with a previously unreleased version of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed.”

Along with the Frank Ocean nod, the collection curated by June and featuring some of her favorite artists also contains previously unreleased interpretations of Joe South’s “Don’t It Make You Want To Go Home,” Gillian Welch’s “Look At Miss Ohio” and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ “Into My Arms.” Valerie also included two tracks that appeared on the deluxe, digital-only edition of her critically acclaimed 2021 album The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers in the form of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon.”

Additionally, Under Cover will count as the wider release for June’s take on Bob Dylan’s “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You,” which was previously available as an Amazon Original exclusive. Also appearing on Under Cover is Valerie’s version of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You,” which she released in May.
