Unknown Mortal Orchestra Releases New Single & Announces World Tour

Back in late-December Unknown Mortal Orchestra continued their annual Christmas tradition by dropping a sprawling 27-minute instrumental track. The psychedelic rock act has now followed that up with something a bit more traditional with the release of a brand new single – “American Guilt.”

The New Zealand-native band has gone the stoner-rock route with their latest, which features crunchy guitar licks, fuzzed-out vocals and heavy primal drumming, with more new music expected to follow.

UMO has also detailed a World Tour that is set to kick off on April 22 at Pearl Street in Northampton, Massachusetts. The 40-date run includes a two-night stand at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel on April 25 and 26, as well as stops at the First Avenue in Minneapolis on May 4, the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta on July 8 and a tour-closing show at Phoenix’s Crescent Ballroom on July 19.

Tickets for the new dates go on sale Friday, January 26 at 10 a.m. local time. Listen to “American Guilt” below:
