Umphrey’s McGee’s Joel Cummins Covers Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Elton John & More On ‘Friday Night Keys’
Umphrey’s McGee’s Joel Cummins covered Pink Floyd, Miles Davis and Elton John on Friday Night Keys. The UM keyboardist resumed his Friday Night run.
Joel Cummins kicked things off with some serious jazz tunes in Keith Jarret’s “Part II C” followed by Mile Davis’ “Blue In Green.” The Umphrey’s keyboardist then headed into some of the band’s own “Blue Echo” and an “In The Kitchen” which is usually sung by Bayliss. Cummins then proceeded to play half of Dark Side Of The Moon with “Breathe” and “Time” and the made for piano song “Great Gig in the Sky.”
“Final Word” came before Joel belted out “Africa.” The keyboardist bookended things with “In The Kitchen.” Joel would then treat the internet to UM rarities, starting with “Sludge & Death,” only played 12 times before. Next up, “Orfeo” and “Mullet (Over).” Cummins closed things out with an Elton John classic, “Bennie And The Jets.”
