Tank & The Bangas Confirm Trilogy-Closing ‘The Last Balloon’ Album & 2026 Tour Dates

Tank and the Bangas will complete a three-album trilogy on May 15 with the release of The Last Balloon on Verve Forecast. The New Orleans-based band fronted by Tarriona “Tank” Ball accompanied the album announcement with a huge batch of new summer and fall tour dates as well as the guest-filled LP’s lead single, “Move.”

The Last Balloon follows 2019’s Green Balloon and 2022’s Red Balloon. “I called the album The Last Balloon because I didn’t want anyone asking us, ‘When’s Purple Balloon coming?’” quippped Ball. “It’s the end of the balloons; we’re moving into a new space now.”

Tank & The Bangas recorded the 13-track project with executive producer and longtime collaborator Austin Brown primarily at The Complex Studios in Los Angeles. R&B phenom Lucky Daye contributed to “Move.” Other guests featured on the album include soul singer Ledisi, acclaimed musician Iman Omari, pianist/producer Tane Runo and former member Anjelika ‘Jelly’ Joseph.

“We’re working with new people and cultivating new sounds, and it feels like we’re more open than we’ve ever been,” added Ball about the start of a new chapter for the band. “What we’ve learned over the years is that even though people can’t always categorize our sound, they’re always able to describe how the music makes them feel. So, we’re gonna keep on changing and evolving, but we’re always gonna give you that same feeling of joy.”

Tank & The Bangas’ The Last Balloon Tour now includes new summer and fall legs featuring Ariel J. as support for most dates. A June excursion focuses on the East Coast and Midwest.

The autumnal outing begins on October 15 in Atlanta and continues through November 21. Tank & The Bangas will go coast-to-coast with dates in Nashville, Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Austin and other cities. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 23 at 10 a.m. local time.
