Muse Announces New Album ‘The Wow! Signal’ By Launching Lead Single Into Space

Muse confirmed a new album, The Wow! Signal, due out through Warner Records on June 26. The rockers announced the record taking its title from the most famous extraterrestrial signal by premiering lead single, “Be With You,” in space.

Teaming up with Sent Into Space, Muse launched “a specially-designed tablet 33km up into the atmosphere to premiere the ‘Be With You’ video,” as per press materials. It’s a fitting opening salvo to herald the band’s newly announced LP, The Wow! Signal.

The album’s title references “a powerful 72-second radio burst detected in 1977 originating from the constellation Sagittarius with a bandwidth and intensity that suggested a possible extraterrestrial source,” read the press release.

The astronomer who observed the event wrote “Wow!” on the readout next to the sequence dubbed “6EQUJ5.” It has more famously become known as “The Wow! Signal.”

Lead The Wow! Signal single “Be With You” arrived along with a music video starring Ella Balinska (Resident Evil, The Occupant) and directed by Nico Paolillo (Deafheaven, Bad Omens). Watch below:
