Umphreys McGee To Return To High Sierra Music Festival

Chicago sextet Umphrey’s McGee will return to the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, California on July 4. Keyboardist Joel Cummins made the announcement from the stage of the Fox Theater in Oakland on Saturday night just before the band’s encore with saxophonist Joshua Redman. Umphrey’s last performed at High Sierra in 2009 after having first made their debut 14 years ago in 2001.

High Sierra 2015 will bring the likes of The String Cheese Incident, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Galactic, The Wood Brothers and ALO, along with dozens of other artists now including Umphrey’s McGee to Quincy between July 2 -5. Tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite.

Cummins had hinted at a July 4th performance for Umphrey’s earlier in the week on Twitter. The band’s appearance at High Sierra comes the night after Umphrey’s headlines Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado.
