Umphrey’s McGee & Los Lobos Place Cover Song Bet On Cubs Vs. Dodgers

Chicago-based Umphrey’s McGee and East Los Angeles-based Los Lobos have entered a “friendly wager” regarding the outcome of Major League Baseball’s National League Championship Series. UM is supporting the Chicago Cubs while Los Lobos is backing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the best-of-seven playoff series.

Revealed before the start of last night’s Game 5 in L.A. in which the Cubs went up three games to two over the Dodgers, the band whose hometown team loses the series has to cover a song by the other group. So if the Dodgers comeback and take Game 6 and Game 7 at Wrigley Field in Chicago this weekend Umphrey’s McGee will have to cover a Los Lobos tune. If the Cubs make it to their first World Series in decades then Los Lobos will tackle an UM original.

The Cubs and Dodgers play Game 6 of the NLCS on Saturday in Chicago starting at 7:00 p.m. CT.
