Umphrey’s McGee Welcomes James Casey & Marlon Lewis In Philadelphia
By Nate Todd Nov 3, 2019 • 10:19 am PST

Umphrey’s McGee closed out their Halloween run at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Saturday night. UM welcomed saxophonist James Casey of Trey Anastasio Band and drummer Marlon Lewis of Star Kitchen, who opened the show with Casey.
Umph delivered a VIP set to get the night underway beginning with “Triangle Tear” and closing out with “Uncommon.” The first set proper got going with “Wizard Burial Ground,” which was left unfinished the night before. Lewis joined the band on the set closer, “Bombtrack” (last time played on December 30, 2016), which gave UM drummer Kris Myers the opportunity to shine on lead vocals.
Umphrey’s got the second going with “It Doesn’t Matter” with Casey on sax. The second frame also included an “August” with a Def Leopard “Hysteria” tease and a “Wind Cries Mary” Hendrix tease on “In The Kitchen.” UM close out the second set with “Mantis,” which had been left unfinished in the first set. Umph came back out for an encore of “Pay The Snucka.”
