Guitarist Jake Cinninger of Umphrey’s McGee will sit out the band’s upcoming performances in Atlanta at the SweetWater 420 Fest in Centennial Olympic Park and at the Variety Playhouse this weekend. The band’s announcement noted Cinninger will be taking “some necessary time to work on his health and well-being.”

The veteran jam act will play the majority of their three concerts in Atlanta as a quintet. Special guests are expected to join Umphrey’s McGee during the performances. The weekend starts for UM tomorrow with two sets at SweetWater 420 Fest’s Pre-Party In The Park, including an “All Night Wrong” cover set with special guests. Next, the group will play a sold-out late-night show at the Variety Playhouse on Friday before performing two sets at the festival on Saturday.
