2022 saw Umphrey’s returning to Atlanta for the fourth time to ring in the New Year. While the band has played at the Tabernacle in the past, this year saw them at Coca-Cola Roxy for a two-night New Year’s run that began on December 30.

The aforementioned “Fenced In” appears on Umphrey’s McGee’s 2022 album Asking For A Friend. UM delivered the song with the Mad Dog & His Filthy Little Secret horns — led by Michael “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou and including Dave Matthews Band’s Jeff Coffin — after the New Year as the penultimate song of the third set. Guitarist Brendan Bayliss led the band through the funky rocker before Mad Dog and company took extended solos to close out the number.
