Umphrey’s McGee Dusts Off Originals And Ween & Pink Floyd Covers In Dallas

By Scott Bernstein Apr 23, 2017 11:50 am PDT

On Saturday, Umphrey’s McGee continued a southern swing with a stop at the House Of Blues in Dallas. The band’s performance featured four 2017 debuts including Ween and Pink Floyd covers.

Umphrey’s opened with “Goonville” > “Educated Guess” on Saturday night. Up next was a pairing of “Cemetery Walk” and “Cemetary Walk II.” The sextet ended last night’s first set with a rare cover of “Transdermal Celebration” by Ween. “Transdermal Celebration” was debuted by Umphrey’s as part of their “Godboner Meets Gene Ween” set at Summer Camp 2015 and they had only played it again once before last night.

UM kicked off the second set with “The Floor” and then treated fans to the 2017 debut of “Hindsight.” Another 2017 debut followed in “End Of The Road.” From there, the group began “Eat” and worked in their first version of “Time” by Pink Floyd of the year within it. Saturday’s second set concluded with “Wappy Sprayberry” > “Partyin’ Peeps” and “Upward” > “In The Kitchen.” The evening came to a close with a “Remind Me” encore.
