Umphreys McGee Covers Ween In Boulder

Last night Umphrey’s McGee kicked off a visit to Colorado with a performance at the Boulder Theater in Boulder ahead of tonight’s show at Red Rocks in nearby Morrison. Umphrey’s worked a Ween cover into their performance for the second time in a week as this time the band served up a rendition of the Chocolate & Cheese classic “Voodoo Lady.”

Umphrey’s collaborated with Gene Ween on a set loaded with Ween songs at this year’s Summer Camp Music Festival. Apparently some of the Ween covers have entered the rotation as they performed “Even If You Don’t” on Saturday night in Kansas City and “Voodoo Lady” last night in Boulder. Guitarist Brendan Bayliss handled vocals on the former, while drummer Kris Myers sang the latter. “Voodoo Lady” even featured a trademark UM jam in the middle.
