Umphrey’s McGee Continues Busting Out Covers In Florida
By Andy Kahn Apr 29, 2017 • 11:00 am PDT
Umphrey’s McGee continued their four-show swing through the Sunshine State with a show Friday at The Fillmore Miami Beach at The Jackie Gleason Theater. For the third straight night fans in Florida were again treated to a bust out cover performance.
UM opened the evening in Miami with “Bathing Digits” which went into guitarist Jake Cinninger’s “Mulche’s Odyssey.” Later in the set the band offered the rarely played Pink Floyd favorite “Comfortably Numb” and closed the first half with “Comma Later” > “Pay The Snucka.”
“In The Black” opened the second set and “In The Kitchen” served as the set closer. Between those offerings UM gave the audience chances to hear “Wappy Sprayberry” > “The Bottom Half” and “No Diablo” > “1348.” They also broke out “Two Tickets To Paradise,” covering the Eddie Money radio hit for just the third time and first time since 2013, while spanning a 434 show gap. “Dump City” followed before the aforementioned “Kitchen” closer. “2×2” began the encore and featured their first cover of Warren G’s “Regulate” of 2017 within the UM classic.
UM’s Florida run continues tonight with Big Something opening at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. View audience-shot video from last night in Miami below:
