Watch Noah Kahan Cover Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ At 2026 Emmys

Noah Kahan performed a stirring rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” during the In Memoriam segment at the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday. Kahan sang and played guitar while accompanied by an orchestra at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy and Dan Levy introduced the segment with a tribute to their late on-screen mother Catherine O’Hara. Culkin portrayed O’Hara’s son in the Home Alone films, while Murphy and Levy played her children on Schitt’s Creek.

Kahan then began “Bridge Over Troubled Water” as images of television figures who died over the past year appeared on screen. Rob Reiner, James Burrows, Dolly Parton, James Van Der Beek, Hayden Panettiere, Tim Curry, Vincent Pastore and Eric Dane were among those remembered during the montage.

Paul Simon wrote “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” which Simon & Garfunkel released in 1970 as the title track to their fifth and final studio album. The single spent six weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to win Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year at the Grammy Awards.

Before the ceremony, Kahan also hinted that more music is already in the works. The singer-songwriter told E! News on the red carpet that he has “something in the works,” though he declined to reveal specifics.

“I can’t tell you any more, really, but yeah, we’ve got something. I got that thing on me right now,” Kahan said. “But very excited about what we have, and it was a really cool opportunity.”

The tease comes less than five months after Kahan released his fourth studio album, The Great Divide. He is currently touring behind the record and its expanded The Great Divide: The Last Of The Bugs edition.
