Watch Jason Isbell Shred With Allman Brothers Band Tribute Act Trouble No More
The collaboration came at Asheville’s Salvage Station on Thursday.
Allman Brothers Band tribute act Trouble No More took the indoor stage at Salvage Station in Asheville, North Carolina on Thursday night. Last night’s show saw the band joined by Jason Isbell for the final two songs of the evening.
Trouble No More’s lineup of vocalist Lamar Williams Jr., guitarists Brandon “Taz” Niederauer and Daniel Donato, bassist Dylan Niederauer, keyboardist Peter Levin and drummer Nikki Glaspie went without sacred steel specialist Roosevelt Collier in Asheville. The six-piece iteration treated fans at Salvage Station to two sets of early ABB favorites including the apt opener “Trouble No More” as well as “Blue Sky,” “Les Brers In A Minor,” “Jessica,” “Melissa” and “Dreams.”
The band worked a few Trouble No More debuts into the setlist including their first “Come And Go Blues.” Featured on the ABB’s 50-year-old 1973 album Brothers & Sisters, “Come And Go Blues” came amid the group’s second set. Next up was an adventurous “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” before Trouble No More welcomed Jason Isbell to the stage.
Jason Isbell was in town for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit‘s show tonight at Asheville’s Rabbit Rabbit. Trouble No More keyboardist/musical director Peter Levin is a member of Isbell’s wife, Amanda Shires’ band. Additionally, Isbell and Levin are part of The Highwomen band. Both Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires sat-in with Trouble No More in Chicago on July 23, 2022.
Levin introduced Isbell as a friend of the band and “one of the finest guitar players and one of the finest songwriters you will hear in this life.” Jason Isbell then showed off his slide skills on “One Way Out.” The evening came to a close with a wild “Whipping Post.” Isbell took a powerful solo during the Allman Brothers Band classic to the delight of the crowd.
