Trey Anastasio Performs ‘Slave To The Traffic Light’ At ‘The Beacon Jams’: Pro-Shot Video
Trey Anastasio shared pro-shot video of Phish’s classic “Slave To The Traffic Light” from The Beacon Jams. The footage was recorded on November 27 at the eighth and final installment of the guitarist’s Friday night weekly livestream series at The Beacon Theatre in New York City.
One of Phish’s oldest originals, “Slave To The Traffic Light” was the third-to-last song of the show and residency that began on October 9. Anastasio began “Slave” on acoustic guitar while backed by Trey Anastasio Band bassist Tony Markellis and the Rescue Squad Strings made up of Anja Wood on cello, Rachel Golub on viola, Katie Kresek and Maxim Moston on violin. Soon, the TAB horn section of saxophonist James Casey, trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick and trombonist Natalie Cressman joined the others on stage. Near the midway point, Trey grabbed his Blonde No. 2 Languedoc electric guitar while TAB keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, drummer Russ Lawton, and percussionist Cyro Baptista resumed their spots and contributed to the end of the song.
The Beacon Jams raised over $1 million for the Divided Sky Fund, the proceeds of which will go toward the establishment of an addiction treatment facility in Vermont.
