Hot on the heels of guest-filled Bluegrass Balls in Colorado, The Travelin’ McCourys have announced a new Bluegrass Ball in St. Louis with a twist. The Travelin’ McCourys and the Jeff Austin Band will team up for a “Grateful Ball” on June 10 at Urban Chestnut Brewing Company’s The Grove in St. Louis. Each band will play a set and then the two acts will come together for a set of Grateful Dead songs to close the evening.

This past weekend, The Travelin’ McCourys teamed up with many guests for Bluegrass Ball shows Thursday in Ft. Collins at The Aggie and Friday & Saturday in Denver at Cervante’s. Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident and Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass performed at all three shows, while the Father of Bluegrass, Del McCoury, joined the fun on Saturday.

As reported, Saturday started out with a special set from Nershi and Beck. The pair was joined by Anders’ Greensky bandmate Paul Hoffman as the trio honored Prince with a cover of “When Doves Cry”:

The Travelin’ McCourys’ set saw guest spots from a bevy of performers including Nershi, Beck, Hoffman, Dave Bruzza, Andy Hall, Chris Pandolfi, Justin Hoffenberg and Del McCoury. Watch the guest-filled performance of “Rollin’ In My Sweet Baby’s Arms”:
