Trampled By Turtles & Dead Man Winter Share Dueling EPs ‘Always Here, Always Now’ Featuring LeAnn Rimes
Dave Simonett’s two bands each recorded the same five songs.

Trampled by Turtles and Dead Man Winter released separate EPs featuring each band’s recordings of the same five songs. Guest vocalist LeAnn Rimes appears on TBT’s version of the song “Out Of Time” and the DMW version of “On My Way Back Home.”
Dave Simonett is a co-founding member of Trampled By Turtles and Dead Man Winter is the frontman’s solo side-project. The EP Always Here features Simonett joined by his TBT bandmates, bassist Tim Saxhaug, banjoist Dave Carroll, mandolinist Erik Berry, fiddler Ryan Young and cellist Eamonn McLain.
“I usually have a vision of where I want specific songs to land when I’m writing them,” Simonett said. “However, this time around I thought it would be interesting to see how both of these bands would approach the same material.”

The flipside EP, Always Now, presents the same five songs on Always Here recorded by Simonett along with Dead Man Winter – Saxhaug, guitarist Erik Koskinen, keyboardist Bryan Nichols and drummer Lars-Erik Larson.
A vinyl edition containing both EPs, Always Here, Always Now, will be available in December. Watch footage of the recording of “Out Of Time” featuring LeAnn Rimes as well as Simonett discussing the project below:
