The Tragically Hip Announces What May Be Farewell Tour

Yesterday, The Tragically Hip announced frontman Gord Downie has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. One of Canada’s most beloved bands issued a statement revealing that despite Downie’s prognosis The Tragically Hip would still hit the road this summer for a tour. This morning, The Tragically Hip detailed a Summer Tour in support of the soon-to-be-released studio album Man Machine Poem which is due June 17.

In true Tragically Hip fashion the five-piece will stick to Canada for the duration of the run. The Tragically Hip kick off the tour in Victoria, British Columbia on July 22. From there, the group will play Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, London (Ontario), Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa before bringing the tour to a close in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario on August 20.

Tickets for all shows go on sale June 3.
