Reggae-fusion sextet Spiritual Rez have detailed an upcoming West Coast Tour in support of their new album, Setting In The West. The LP is due on October 7, which comes towards the end of the band’s West Coast jaunt.
Spiritual Rez begins the tour with a stop at Marble Brewery in Albuquerque on September 21. From there, the group visits Phoenix on the 22nd before a series of shows in California that includes performances in Long Beach (September 23), Pacific Beach (September 24), Los Angeles (September 25), San Francisco (September 27), Santa Cruz (September 29), Nevada City (September 30) and Arcata (October 1). The band then heads to the Pacific Northwest for a TBA show in Bend on October 5, a concert at Eugene’s HiFi Music Hall on October 6, a TBA show in Portland on October 8 and a tour-closing gig at Nectar Lounge in Seattle on October 9.
“After years of touring the rest of the country, we’re thankful to finally have begun consistently making it out to the West where our style of music is so widely accepted and received. It seems almost overly natural to perform on that side of our nation,” Spiritual Rez drummer Ian “Meat” Miller tells JamBase. The band’s new album was produced by AWOLNATION’s Kenny Carkeet, and co-produced by Eve 6’s Max Collins. It features guest appearances by Duddy B of Dirty Heads, Hirie, Billy Kottage of Reel Big Fish, and co-writing with Goldfinger’s John Feldmann.
