The Wood Brothers announced a Musical Squares livestream special. Musical Squares will air on Wednesday, September 23 at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT via LiveXLive as part of the Live From Out There series.

The webcast will mark The Wood Brothers’ first extended livestream performance since the onset of the pandemic. The 60+ minute session will feature a career-spanning set from the Nashville-based trio as well as songs from their 2020 album, Kingdom In My Mind. Additionally, Musical Squares will offer fans a glimpse inside the inner-workings of Oliver Wood, Jano Rix and Chris Wood’s creative process and also showcase their “ever present, wry sense of humor with scenes like Oliver taking a dip in his ‘rock star’ swimming pool and Chris harvesting vegetables from his garden,” as per a statement.

“The pandemic has taken away something special that we’ve been doing for so long we almost took it for granted. Live music!” bassist Chris Wood related. “Now we’re all trapped inside computer squares, but we’re not going to let that stop us from making music and connecting with our fans. It’s a brave new world and this is our first step outside our comfort zone.”

A portion of the proceeds from Musical Squares will benefit Sweet Relief COVID-19 Fund, “which provides financial assistance to career musicians and music industry workers who are struggling to make ends meet. Funds raised will go towards medical expenses, lodging, clothing, food and other vital living expenses for those impacted.” Those who purchase tickets will have the option of watching the stream for two weeks after it airs.
