The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger & Ronnie Wood Perform At ‘Foreign Tongues’ Launch Party

Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood celebrated the impending release of The Rolling Stones‘ new album, Foreign Tongues, on Wednesday in London. The pair, along with Stones touring member Matt Clifford, performed the album’s “Ringing Hollow,” and two classic songs to a star-studded audience at the St. Clement Hotel.

Foreign Tongues is set for release tomorrow (Friday, June 10). Along with featuring late drummer Charlie Watts‘ final recordings, The Stones invited Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, The Cure‘s Robert Smith and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers to play on the record.

The band also invited some high-profile guests to the London launch party last night including artists from across entertainment and sports such as Daniel Craig, Sam Fender, Sacha Baron Cohen, Rachel Weisz, John McEnroe, Glen Matlock and Vernon Kay.

At the St. Clement Hotel, Mick and Ronnie shouldered acoustic guitars accompanied by Matt Clifford on piano to perform the unreleased, country-infused Foreign Tongues‘ cut “Ringing Hollow.” The lyrics of the song express disappointment at the current state of affairs in America.

The trio then served up oldies “Dead Flowers” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Following the party, a drone show created by Patrick Woodroffe and inspired by the Foreign Tongues single “In The Stars” lit up the London skies with The Stones’ iconic tongue logo and more.
