Despite the name, San Francisco’s The Brothers Comatose are known for providing a lively dance party at each performance. The band is about to begin a string of fall dates that includes visits to Denver’s Lost Lake on Thursday, the Ivywild School in Colorado Springs on Friday and Oskar Blues in Lyons, Colorado on Saturday. The Brothers Comatose recently shared a video showing off their inventive version of Huey Lewis & The News’ “I Want A New Drug.”
Fellow Bay Area natives Huey Lewis & The News released “I Want A New Drug” as the second single from their 1984 breakthrough LP Sports. The single rocketed to #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Dance Club Play chart. The Brothers Comatose deconstruct the catchy tune using their bluegrass instrumentation.
