The Band’s Robbie Robertson To Perform At The Last Waltz New Orleans All-Star Concert

The Band guitarist Robbie Robertson will perform at The Last Waltz New Orleans: An All-Star Celebration Of The Band’s Historic Farewell Concert. The event produced by Robertson, Keith Wortman, Sebastian Robertson, Blackbird Presents and Live Nation will be held during New Orleans Jazz Fest at the Saenger Theatre on May 2.

Along with Robertson, The Last Waltz New Orleans will feature guitarists Warren Haynes, Jamey Johnson, Dave Malone and Bob Margolin, bassist Don Was, keyboardists John Medeski and Ivan Neville, drummer Terence Higgins and Mark Mullins & The Levee Horns. Special guests are expected to participate in the celebration of The Band’s 1976 Thanksgiving farewell concert that was documented in the Martin Scorcese-directed film, The Last Waltz.

“New Orleans has always been a special and influential place,” Robertson stated. “I am honored to continue the tradition of celebrating The Last Waltz with this extraordinary lineup in a city that has meant so much to me.”
