The Art Of McCartney | Billy Joel, Roger Daltrey, Bob Dylan

An impressive roster of musical acts have contributed Paul McCartney covers to a long-in-the-making tribute to Macca dubbed The Art Of McCartney that’s due on November 18. Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Roger Daltrey, Toots Hibbert, Willie Nelson and Brian Wilson are just a few of the performers who lent their talents to what looks to be the quintessential Paul McCartney tribute album.

Producer Ralph Sall started putting together the project 11 years ago when he worked with McCartney to revive a song from the Ram sessions for a movie soundtrack. Sall came up with the idea and received Paul’s blessing. He then enlisted the members of McCartney’s incredible touring band to back the likes of Dylan, Joel, Daltrey and Nelson as they recorded songs from Paul’s time in The Beatles and Wings as well as his solo career.

Billy Joel’s “Maybe I’m Amazed,” Yusuf’s (Cat Stevens) “The Long And Winding Road,” Dr. John’s “Let ‘Em In,” Perry Farrell’s “Gotta Get You Into My Life,” Bob Dylan’s “Things We Said Today” and Heart’s “Band On The Run” are just a few of the tracks we can’t wait to hear. The Art Of McCartney will be available in five different packages ranging from a “Strictly Limited Deluxe Box Set” (pictured above) to a “Strictly Limited Vinyl Box set” to “Triple Gatefold Vinyl” to “CD Casebook” to “CD Remus.” There’s also a digital release.
