Tedeschi Trucks Band Brings ‘Future Soul’ From Beacon Theatre Residency To ‘Kimmel’

Tedeschi Trucks Band served as the musical guest on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The ABC late-night television program aired a performance of “Future Soul” from the group’s ongoing Beacon Theatre residency.

The potent rock song is the title track from TTB’s sixth studio album, Future Soul, which arrived today. Mike Elizondo helmed the follow-up to 2022’s I Am The Moon with co-bandleader Derek Trucks aboard as co-producer.

House lights were kept on at the Beacon Theatre last Saturday when Tedeschi Trucks Band lit into the version of “Future Soul” filmed for Jimmy Kimmel Live. The performance opened the second set of the 12-piece ensemble’s fourth of 10 shows at the historic venue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

Susan Tedeschi had a punk edge to her fiery lead vocals on “Future Soul,” while Derek Trucks utilized a Gibson Flying V guitar. Trucks also used a Flying V to record the song for the album. The band kept the performance tight due to the time restrictions of network television.
