Tedeschi Trucks Band Covers Jefferson Airplane With Hot Tuna & Paul McCartney With The Wood Brothers

The Wheels Of Soul Tour featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band along with Hot Tuna and The Wood Brothers rolled through the Midwest this weekend. On Friday night TTB welcomed members of Hot Tuna for a debut Jefferson Airplane cover and members of The Wood Brothers joined the band on a debut Paul McCartney cover. The trio of acts reprised the collaborations again last night.

Friday’s show at PNC Pavilion at Riverbend in Cincinnati saw Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi welcome Hot Tuna’s Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen to join the group on a first-time performance of “3/5th of a Mile in 10 Seconds.” The pair of guests had originally recorded the song in 1967 with Jefferson Airplane. Later in the set TTB brought out The Wood Brothers for a debut offering of Paul McCartney and Wings’ “Let Me Roll It.”

Both of the collaborations were given second takes Sunday night at The Wheels Of Soul Tour stop at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Audience-shot video footage of Jack and Jorma joining TTB last evening was captured by Brian H, watch below:
