Taylor Swift Does ‘Something Bad’ By Performing ‘Reputation’ Favorite For 1st Time Since 2018

Taylor Swift surprised Swifties at her concert Saturday at London’s Wembley Stadium during the acoustic “Surprise Songs” section of The Eras Tour show. Swift performed a solo acoustic guitar version of “I Did Something Bad,” marking her first time playing the Reputation favorite since 2018.

Swift prefaced the bust out by explaining the intent of the nightly “Surprise Songs” segment is to expand the setlist and incorporate meaningful songs from across her deep catalog.

Speaking to the crowd at the historic stadium, Swift explained:

“The acoustic section, this is a part of the show that I started as a tradition on The Eras Tour – the whole point of it was to challenge me to play as many songs from different albums and different eras as possible. So I’m always trying to come up with new ideas, different things, switching things around, doing things I haven’t done before. I do something on guitar and then I do something on piano.

“The whole tour, I’ve done hundreds of songs, but I’ve not done one of my favorite ones because I was waiting for the right crowd to be a certain amount of excellence. And I’m serious I feel like I’ve made best friends in this crowd, I feel like I’ve seen Tony Award-winning performances in this crowd. Like, you are performing the show, like there’s a show happening in the crowd. I just want to say it’s such a dream to play for a crowd like this, especially when there’s 92,000 of you operating on this level. It’s magic.

“So I’m gonna do a song I’ve never done on the tour, that’s one of my favorite songs ever, just because you are that awesome and you deserve something of this caliber.”

Swift then performed a solo acoustic rendition of “I Did Something Bad,” which was last played in 2018 during the tour in support of 2017’s Reputation. Hardly a “solo” performance, the massive audience sang along with the singer-songwriter throughout.

Swift hosts the fourth show of her five-show The Eras Tour stop at Wembley Stadium tonight. Another show follows tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20, which brings an end to the international leg of her record breaking tour. The Eras Tour resumes in North America in late October.
