STS9 Welcomes Victor Wooten And Covers Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre In Boston

By Scott Bernstein Apr 21, 2017 3:00 pm PDT

Jamtronica act STS9 continued the Get Loud Tour on Thursday night at the House Of Blues in Boston, where they were joined by an old friend. Bela Fleck & The Flecktones bassist Victor Wooten sat-in with the group as part of their second set in Boston.

Tribe worked a rare cover of Dr. Dre’s 2000 single with Snoop Dogg “The Next Episode” into the second set. STS9 brought out Victor Wooten later in the closing stanza to guest on “Grow” and he engaged in a bit of a duel with STS9 bassist Alana Rocklin. Alana posted on Facebook that “we ran into Victor Wooten on the street in Boston” and thanked him “for the endless inspiration.” Wooten had previously sat-in with the group at the 2015 Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, Illinois.
