The STS9 / Umphrey’s McGee tour continued last night in Charlotte, where both bands had tricks up their sleeves for the audience at Time Warner Uptown Amphitheater.

Umphrey’s went on first and delivered one tour debut after another. The biggest surprise in a set filled with them came in the middle of “Great American,” when UM dusted off “Raymond” for the first time in 383 shows (last played -March 11, 2010). Other treats included a brief jam on “Miss You” by The Rolling Stones out of “Sociable Jimmy” and a cover of “Cocaine” that developed from “Kabump.”

Umphrey’s Set: Domino Theory, Smell The Mitten > Who Knows > Smell The Mitten, Rocker Pt. 2, Great American > Raymond [1] > drums[1] > Great American > Sociable Jimmy[2], Kabump > Cocaine, Bad Poker, Nothing Too Fancy

Notes: [1] with Jake on percussion
