Stormy Mondays | Summer moe.jams Edition

In my opinion, nothing is better for mid-summer listening than a healthy dose of moe., so this week marks another moe.jams edition of Stormy Mondays.

Back in the summer of 2009, the band closed out the Fourth of July weekend celebration with a full mid-afternoon show at a little park in New Jersey. It was a gorgeous day in a small comfortable, casual venue, all of which set the just the right vibe for some serious long-form improvisation.

From the beginning of moe.’s second set at Vasa Park in Olive, NJ on July 5, 2009 we have a “Moth” > “Jazz Wank” that sets up an expansive but steady groove that eventually launches into a massive 24-minute “Yodelittle.” There’s some great, interstellar moe. jamming, full-band travelling music that eventually explodes back into “Moth” to end a thrilling 40+ minutes of summertime goodness. Strap yourself in, turn it up loud, and as always, enjoy!
