A benefit to raise funds for Dave Hunter will be held at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on May 12. Hunter is a visionary poster designer who has created work for Metallica, the Neville Brothers, Les Claypool, Dead & Company and many other acts. He’s currently fighting for his life with brain cancer.

Art & Soul: A Concert To Benefit Dave Hunter will feature Steve Kimock & Friends as guitarist Steve Kimock will be joined by keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, bassist Bobby Vega, drummer John Kimock and multi-instrumentalist Leslie Mendelson. Special guests are expected to take the stage on Dave’s behalf.

Los Angeles-based ensemble Disreputable Few will open following their recent appearance backing Bob Weir at NAMM. Divine and illuminating visuals will be provided by artist Jonathan Singer, while the inestimable Wavy Gravy will serve as master of ceremonies. In addition, attendees can take part in a silent auction and check out a poster art show.

Tickets are on sale now via the venue’s website. Head here to make a direct contribution to Dave Hunter as he continues his fight with cancer.
