St. Paul and The Broken Bones returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as the musical guests on Monday’s episode. The Alabama-based octet delivered an authoritative performance of “Fall Moon” at 30 Rock for the late-night television show.
The swagger-filled song appears on the band’s recently released self-titled album. St. Paul & The Broken Bones, the group’s sixth studio album, arrived on October 10 via their own Oasis Pizza Records imprint.
“‘Fall Moon’ is a love song that is written for someone who loves words by someone who feels they lack the vocabulary to match that energy,” explained the band’s frontman, Paul Janeway. “A song meant to be read on paper. There are references of grammatical errors. Tongue in cheek. I can’t help but sing it with a smile. The original verse melody came from a trombone melody that our very own Chad Fisher wrote. I thought it was such a good melody that it shouldn’t be wasted on the trombone but for the verse vocal melody. The chorus was birthed by the band sitting in the studio together and it magically came out. This is probably the happiest song St. Paul & The Broken Bones has ever written. Don’t get used to it.”
Earlier this fall, St. Paul & The Broken Bones announced an extensive Spring 2026 North American Tour. The 28-date trek begins on March 24 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and concludes May 9 with a concert in Charleston, South Carolina. Tyler Ballgame and Brother Wallace will each open select shows.
